IBDP Curriculum: Empowering Global Thinkers and Leaders of Tomorrow

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a globally recognized two-year curriculum designed for students aged 16 to 19. Renowned for its academic rigor and holistic approach, the IBDP fosters critical thinking, research skills, and intercultural understanding. At Adani International School (ADIS), we proudly offer this transformative opportunity, enabling students to explore a balanced mix of subjects while engaging in creativity, activity, and service (CAS) projects. The program equips learners with the skills and mindset to excel in higher education and emerge as compassionate, lifelong global citizens.

Pedagogy

The Senior School caters to maturing young adults who are becoming acquainted with challenges typical of teenage years. As a result, we strive to nurture an environment of curiosity, empathy, and innovation at senior school where teaching and learning is interactive, collaborative and experiential. The teacher is a guide who creates various opportunities for their holistic development and helps develop life skills, like leadership, self-discipline and perseverance, needed to shape students into transformational leaders ready to face all challenges in the future, leaders who take ownership of their own learning.

We are an authorised school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, a renowned international programme that ensures students aged 16-18 are ready for success at university and beyond. IBDP students take responsibility for their learning, developing critical and creative thinking, collaboration, research, self-discipline, and communication skills. The robust curriculum in the IBDP emphasises equipping the students with skills and values needed not only to overcome the challenges of today’s complex, dynamic world but also to succeed in jobs and careers of the future.

Curriculum

The program offers a range of subjects that cover a variety of academic areas, including languages, mathematics, humanities, sciences, and arts. While a science‑oriented student is challenged to learn a foreign language and the natural linguist becomes familiar with laboratory procedures, active citizenship and global perspectives are encouraged in each area of the curriculum. The subjects are continually reviewed and revised to meet contemporary needs.

Students study subjects that align with their interests and career goals and are encouraged to select those subjects that complement each other. In addition to the subject-specific knowledge, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme focuses on developing critical thinking and independent learning skills. This is achieved through various formative and summative assessments methods that include collaborative tasks, group and individual presentations, open book tests, Internal assessments, case studies and field work, besides the written assessments. The curriculum provides opportunities for students to demonstrate their understanding individually and collaboratively, honing their creativity and research skills in the process.
