Hello everyone! My name is Pallavi Baviskar. I am born and raised in Mumbai (Maharashtra) I have completed my BMS (Bachelors in Management studies) in 2014 and B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) in 2018 from Mumbai. I have worked as a Primary educator in City International School from 2018 to 2019 and in Oberoi International School as a PYP educator from 2019 to 2022. Why did I choose this profession? Education is the only weapon that can empower everyone. Growing up I realized that as we become adult we tend to throw ball in each other’s court to be held responsible for the current miserable scenario of the world. However, we fail to act! Hence, to become more responsible citizens, to be able to make more informed choices is highly important. For this cause, I strongly believe that building the foundation right is necessary yet the only need of the hour. There is no other profession than education where you get multiple opportunities to influence the young minds for making this world a better place. I feel lucky and proudly happy to see the difference an educator can bring into learner’s life. Teaching is more than an occupation to me. Spending productive time with innocent yet loving hearts and curious minds becomes my source of happiness. Learning is a lifelong journey, and through teaching one can learn a lot. Minds are like parachute, they only function when they are open. Hence, being open minded and caring helps me be the approachable and non-judgmental teacher. This helps my learner feel very much accepted, valued and it gives a feel of belongingness. Spending time with nature makes me believe in spreading love and joy wherever I go. Also, planting, cooking, painting and bike riding helps me in maintaining my work-life balance.
